India industrial gas company INOX Air Products will build a cryogenic air separation unit at a solar cell manufacturing facility owned by solar tech business Premier Energies in Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh in India.
INOX AP will supply 7000 normal cubic metres per hour of high-purity nitrogen and 250 nm3/hour of ultra-high-purity oxygen to the facility under a 20-year agreement. The ASU is expected to come onstream next year.
According to Siddharth Jain, Managing Director at INOX AP, this is India’s first integrated ASU for the solar cell manufacturing industry that’s capable of producing ultra-high-purity gases.
