Indian industrial gas firm INOX Air Products (INOXAP) has inaugurated its 200 tonnes per day (tpd) air separation unit (ASU) at Atchutapuram, Andhra Pradesh, India.
The ASU will produce 200 tpd of liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and liquid argon, with capability to produce ultra-high-purity (UHP) liquid nitrogen to support solar and semiconductor manufacturing applications.
This represents INOXAP’s first 200 tpd liquid gas production facility in Andhra Pradesh, expanding its industrial gas supply network in India to supply the manufacturing sector and supply medical oxygen for its healthcare infrastructure.
It will also support the pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, steel and metals, ferro alloys, chemicals, glass and engineering sectors.
Siddharth Jain, Managing Director at INOXAP, said, “This facility reflects our confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s industrial potential and our commitment to building critical gas infrastructure ahead of demand.”
INOXAP currently delivers over 5,000 tpd of liquid gases across more than 55 operating facilities.
gasworld Intelligence estimates oxygen, nitrogen, and argon demand in India totals 380,000 tpd.
The gas demand is concentrated in the general manufacturing (31%), metallurgy (29%), and chemicals (20%) industries, respectively.
It comes after the joint venture between Air Products and INOX Group filed for an for potential listing on the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE.
