Jupiter International has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Odisha to set up a Photovoltaic Solar Cell and Module Manufacturing Unit in Khordha. The project will be executed through Jupiter Renewables, a subsidiary of Jupiter International, with an investment of ₹2,005 crore. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 4.2 GW for solar cells and 3.6 GW for modules, contributing to India’s growing solar manufacturing industry.

The agreement was signed at the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, where discussions focused on expanding India’s solar manufacturing capabilities. The initiative aligns with Odisha’s vision of becoming a major industrial hub and supports India’s national goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

Jupiter International’s Managing Director, Alok Garodia, highlighted the project’s importance in strengthening India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem. He stated that integrating advanced solar cell and module production would help build a sustainable supply chain that supports the country’s clean energy transition.

The initiative is part of the company’s broader expansion strategy, which includes achieving 3 GW of wafer capacity, 9.4 GW of solar cell capacity, and 6 GW of module production within the next three years. By developing an integrated solar manufacturing ecosystem, Jupiter International aims to enhance quality control, cost efficiency, and supply chain resilience.

The project is expected to create employment opportunities and reduce India’s dependence on imported solar components. With its focus on advanced solar technology and manufacturing, Jupiter International is positioned to play a key role in India’s renewable energy growth and sustainability efforts.
