Kee Ming Group Berhad has secured a significant contract in Malaysia’s growing renewable energy sector through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kee Ming Electrical Private Limited (KME). The company announced that it has accepted a Letter of Award from Atlantic Blue Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Solarvest Holdings Berhad, for mechanical and electrical engineering works related to a large-scale solar power project in Bukit Selambau, Kedah.

The subcontract is valued at approximately RM70 million and covers work for a 99.99-megawatt solar photovoltaic power plant. Under the agreement, Kee Ming will undertake a comprehensive scope of work, including the supply, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning of key electrical infrastructure required for the project.

The company’s responsibilities include the development of the Solar Power Plant Interconnection Facility as well as the Tenaga Nasional Berhad Interconnection Facility. These systems are essential for connecting the solar plant to the national grid and ensuring the safe and efficient transmission of electricity generated by the facility.

The contract value includes all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision, and other resources necessary to complete the project. In addition to the main contract amount, a further RM2 million has been allocated for contingency works that may be required by the main contractor during the execution of the project.

Work on the solar project is expected to commence immediately. According to the project timeline, back energisation is targeted for December 15, 2026. Initial operations are scheduled to begin on December 30, 2026, while full commercial operation of the solar plant is expected to be achieved by February 28, 2027.

As of March 31, Kee Ming reported an outstanding order book of RM151.9 million, providing strong earnings visibility and supporting the company’s growth prospects heading into the 2027 financial year.
