Lloyds Metals Approves Solar And Wind Investments Under Group Captive Scheme

Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited is strengthening its renewable energy portfolio by approving equity investments in multiple solar and wind power projects under the Group Captive Scheme. The decisions were taken at the company’s board meeting held on August 10, 2026, along with the approval of financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

The company’s board approved agreements to acquire a minimum 26% equity stake in three renewable energy project entities. The investment structure will enable Lloyds Metals to meet the requirements for group captive power consumption and secure renewable electricity for its energy-intensive operations.

For wind power, the company will enter into Share Subscription and Shareholders Agreements with Amplus Energy Solutions Pte. Ltd. for investments in Amplus Green One Power Private Limited and Amplus Energy One Private Limited. Lloyds Metals will also sign long-term Wind Power Purchase Agreements with both project companies to secure electricity generated from the wind projects.

In the solar segment, the company has approved a Share Subscription and Shareholders Agreement with Amplus Energy Solutions Pte. Ltd. and Amplus Ceres Solar Private Limited. A separate Solar Power Purchase Agreement will also be executed with Amplus Ceres Solar to facilitate the supply of solar-generated electricity.

The combination of solar and wind power is expected to provide Lloyds Metals with a diversified renewable energy supply, supporting its mining and metal manufacturing operations while reducing dependence on conventional power sources and lowering carbon emissions.

The board also approved the appointment of Avijit Ghosh as an Additional Director designated as Non-Executive, Independent Director for a five-year term, subject to shareholder approval.

In another financial decision, Lloyds Metals approved an investment of up to ₹625 crore in its subsidiary, Thriveni Earthmovers and Infra Private Limited, through a rights issue or further issue of capital. The board also approved the conversion of existing loans to its wholly owned overseas subsidiary, Lloyds Global Resources FZCO, into equity shares and authorized further capital investment in the Dubai-based company.
