LONGi Solar Europe Powers LATAM Energy Shift with Key Utility-Scale Alliance

LONGi Solar, the global leader in solar innovation, has finalized a transformative agreement to supply over 100MW of Hi-MO 9 modules for a utility-scale solar initiative spanning LATAM continent. Spearheaded by LONGi’s European team, this collaboration underscores the company’s capacity to deliver cutting-edge back contact (BC) solutions for high-impact projects in diverse geographies, further cementing Europe’s role as a hub for global renewable energy leadership.

Project Overview: Bridging Continents with BC Innovation
The initiative, developed in partnership with a leading global energy developer, leverages LONGi’s Hi-MO 9 modules to address complex energy challenges across sun-drenched and variable climates. Designed for scalability, the project optimizes land use and energy yield through BC technology’s industry-leading efficiency (up to 24.8% module conversion) and durability. This deployment aligns with Latin America’s regional decarbonization targets, supporting grid stability and energy security in markets undergoing rapid renewable expansion.

“This collaboration exemplifies how European technical excellence drives global energy transitions. By uniting LONGi’s innovation with cross-regional execution capabilities, we’re proving that BC technology is not just a European success—it’s the universal standard for utility-scale solar.” said by Mr. Francois Cui, President of LONGi Europe.

“This project marks another very important milestone for LONGi. It´s extremely exciting to see how our customers are fully understanding BC superior technology and how it´s paving the way for a new era of PV modules in the industry.”, added Mr. David Sanchez, General Manager IBERA of LONGi Europe.

Hi-MO 9’s back contact architecture eliminates front-grid shading, a critical advantage for regions prioritizing land efficiency and ecological preservation. With anti-PID and anti-LID guarantees, the modules ensure reliable performance over 30 years, reducing LCOE by 7-9% compared to conventional technologies. The project is projected to offset 120,000+ tonnes of CO 2 annually, equivalent to powering 60,000 homes. The initiative also adheres to stringent biodiversity protocols, minimizing environmental disruption while maximizing clean energy output.
