North Dakota Oil Output Slips Amid Cold Weather, State Pipeline Regulator Says

North Dakota is the third-largest oil-producing state in the country, with November output totaling some 1.221 million bpd, according to the latest data from the Department of Mineral Resources.

The state’s associated natural gas output fell by an estimated 0.17-0.26 billion cubic feet per day, said Justin Kringstad, director of the North Dakota Pipeline Authority.

Production challenges appeared to have started last week and continued through the weekend, according to Kringstad.

“Cold conditions are expected to continue this week. Recovery typically takes up to a week once more normal weather conditions arrive,” he added.
