NTPC Ltd., India’s largest integrated power utility, will organize the Indian Power Stations O&M Conference (IPS 2025) from February 13 to 15, 2025, in Raipur. The annual event commemorates the commissioning of NTPC’s first thermal power unit at Singrauli in 1982, a milestone that significantly contributed to the country’s power sector. The conference will be inaugurated by Shri Manohar Lal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, in the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Power and power sector PSUs.
As NTPC celebrates its golden jubilee, IPS 2025 is expected to be more impactful than ever, bringing together industry experts, professionals, and pioneers for discussions, knowledge-sharing, and insights. The theme, ‘Reliable and Sustainable Generation, Asset Management, and Energy Transition,’ reflects the evolving landscape of the power sector.
IPS 2025 has received an overwhelming response, with over 400 technical papers submitted by experts from various organizations, research institutes, OEMs, universities, and regulatory bodies. Ninety selected papers will be presented during the conference, highlighting advancements, best practices, and innovations in power generation.
A key feature of the event will be the Techno Galaxy Exhibition, showcasing the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, digitalization, and power solutions. Industry stakeholders will have the opportunity to explore new technologies that improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability in power plants. Models and performance highlights from NTPC stations will also be on display, represented through their respective regional headquarters.
By fostering collaboration and innovation, IPS 2025 aims to shape the future of reliable and sustainable power generation. NTPC is India’s leading power utility, supplying one-fourth of the country’s electricity with an installed capacity of over 77 GW. The company is expanding with 29.5 GW under construction, including 9.6 GW of renewable energy. It has set a goal of achieving 60 GW of renewable capacity by 2032.
Beyond power generation, NTPC is diversifying into new areas such as e-mobility, battery storage, pumped hydro storage, waste-to-energy, nuclear power, and green hydrogen solutions. It has also participated in bidding for power distribution in Union Territories. With a strong focus on clean energy and innovation, NTPC continues to drive the transition towards a more sustainable and efficient power sector.
