The Department of Energy (DOE) is strengthening its bilateral climate cooperation with Singapore following a high-level meeting.
DOE Undersecretary Rowena Cristina L. Guevara met with Singapore’s Ambassador for Climate Action and Senior Adviser to the National Climate Change Secretariat (NCCS) Ravi Menon, together with NCCS Director General Benedict Chia, to discuss joint efforts in advancing the region’s energy transition.
Talks focused on developing the market for transition credits, seen as a key instrument to accelerate decarbonization initiatives. Both sides also explored collaborative strategies aimed at expediting the Philippines’ shift to cleaner energy sources.
Officials said the dialogue highlights the Philippines and Singapore’s shared commitment to harnessing innovative financial tools and technical expertise to meet climate targets while promoting sustainable economic growth.
