Podcast: World Nuclear Fuel Cycle 2025

Wednesday, 23 April 2025

The goal of tripling nuclear energy capacity by 2050 is shared by many governments, businesses and financial institutions. If that is to happen there is going to have to be a large increase in fuel supply.

The conference, co-organised by the Nuclear Energy Institute and World Nuclear Association, heard from key figures involved in all stages of the fuel cycle about what is needed to meet that increased demand. Issues raised during the discussions included the impact of trade tariffs, transport and wider geopolitics. All could have an impact on an industry which crosses borders and spans the globe.

This episode features contributions from:

Sama Bilbao y León, World Nuclear Association Director General
Nicolle Butcher, Ontario Power Generation President and CEO
Tim Gitzel, Cameco President and CEO
Sashi Davies, Boss Energy Ltd Strategic Advisor
