PowerBank Provides Development Update on 2.6 MW Elmira Solar Project in Upstate New York

PowerBank Corporation, a leading developer and owner of energy infrastructure assets across North America, announced an update on the progress of its 2.6 MW ground-mounted solar power project in Upstate New York, known as the Elmira Project.

The project has achieved several key development milestones, including site plan approval, the issuance of a special use permit, and receipt of a negative declaration under the State Environmental Quality Review Act. Subject to the completion of financing, construction of the Elmira Project is expected to begin before the end of the year. The project is also anticipated to qualify for incentives under the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s (NYSERDA) NY-Sun Program.

Once operational, the Elmira Project will operate as a community solar facility. Community solar allows multiple subscribers—homeowners, renters, and small businesses—to benefit from clean, locally generated energy without the need to install panels on their properties. Subscribers receive credits on their electricity bills for their share of the power generated, reducing their overall energy costs while supporting the growth of renewable energy in their communities.

PowerBank brings extensive experience to the development and execution of the Elmira Project, having successfully completed over 100 MW of solar projects with a development pipeline exceeding 1 GW. The Company’s institutional-grade capabilities and strategic partnerships enable it to deliver reliable, high-impact renewable energy solutions across North America.
