Indian green energy and power stocks witnessed mixed trading activity across the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), while the broader equity market ended higher. The NIFTY 50 gained 0.43% to close at 23,428.95, while the S&P BSE SENSEX advanced 0.40% to settle at 74,828.25.
EKI Energy Services emerged as one of the strongest performers in the green energy segment, surging 20% during the session. Kabra Extrusion Technique also recorded a sharp rise, gaining nearly 10% on the BSE to close at ₹732.95. On the NSE, the stock increased 7.01% to ₹712.95.
Olectra Greentech attracted significant buying interest, with its shares rising 4.82% on the BSE to ₹1,274.90 and 4.36% on the NSE. Websol Energy System also gained 3.66% to close at ₹74.50.
Among major renewable and power companies, NTPC Green Energy advanced 2.38% to ₹95.60, while Amara Raja Energy & Mobility increased 2.28% to ₹811.00. Larsen & Toubro gained 1.50% to ₹3,928.00, supported by continued investor interest in companies with exposure to infrastructure and clean-energy activities.
Reliance Industries edged up 0.41% to ₹1,247.05, while Tata Power and JSW Energy rose 0.45% and 0.74%, respectively. Praj Industries, Borosil Renewables and Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy also recorded gains during the session. State-owned companies GAIL and Indian Oil Corporation posted modest increases of less than 1.5%.
However, several stocks moved lower amid selling pressure. Inox Wind declined 3.28% on the BSE to ₹75.20, while its NSE decline stood at 1.42%. Juniper Green Energy fell 1.51% to ₹265.00, and Exide Industries slipped 1.16% to ₹424.40.
Adani Green Energy declined 0.51% on the BSE to ₹1,297.00. Insolation Energy fell 0.72% to ₹91.50, while Indian Energy Exchange remained largely unchanged, edging down 0.04% to ₹113.25.
The session reflected a mixed trend across the renewable energy and power segment, with strong gains in selected stocks offset by declines in several companies. Overall, the broader market remained positive, with the benchmark indices closing higher.
