PV Doctor Launches in Singapore, Ushering in New Era for Solar Asset Management

The “PV Doctor” has been officially launched as a commercial spin-off from the Solar Energy Research Institute of Singapore (SERIS) at the National University of Singapore (NUS), marking a transformative leap for the solar energy sector. Built on over 15 years of research, the PV Doctor aims to revolutionise photovoltaic (PV) asset performance through AI-powered analytics and proactive maintenance solutions.

Branded with the tagline “We listen, we analyse, we cure”, PV Doctor provides comprehensive monitoring and rectification services for solar installations, both underperforming and healthy. Using its proprietary Smart O&M (Operations & Maintenance) platform, the company delivers real-time diagnostics, performance benchmarking, and actionable insights to ensure solar assets yield maximum energy output.

The company already monitors more than 200 MWp across 400 sites in 10 countries, with over 3% of Singapore’s PV installations under its watch.

“Many solar systems suffer from neglect due to the misconception of zero maintenance,” said Dr André Nobre, Co-Founder and Managing Director. “With an estimated US$10 billion in global preventable energy losses, our mission is to change that.”

PV Doctor’s core services include Smart and Preventive O&M, in-depth system diagnostics, repowering of aging installations, independent performance audits, and strategic technical support. These offerings target a broad clientele—from residential owners to large-scale solar farms—positioning the company as a one-stop solution for PV performance optimisation.

The leadership behind PV Doctor includes solar veterans Dr Nobre and Dr Thomas Reindl, whose combined scientific and industry expertise underpins the start-up’s vision to boost energy yields, reduce operational risks, and enhance financial returns for PV investors.
