Reservoir Link Energy Bhd, an energy-related services provider, has announced that its 60%-owned subsidiary, Reservoir Link Solutions Sdn Bhd, has been awarded a contract by Hibiscus Oil & Gas Malaysia Limited for the PM3 CAA Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Project.

Under the two-year contract, Reservoir Link Solutions will provide independent third-party subsurface review and technical assurance services for the CCS study. The scope of work includes evaluating subsurface workflows and methodologies, data inputs and assumptions, static and dynamic modelling, technical analysis and interpretation, as well as reviewing the final recommended outcomes. The assignment also requires the provision of practical and cost-effective solutions to mitigate any identified gaps or risks.

This award marks Reservoir Link’s first contract in the CCS segment, representing a strategic expansion of the Group’s technical capabilities and service offerings. The move aligns with the growing global focus on CCS as a key mechanism for reducing carbon dioxide emissions through capture, transportation, and permanent underground storage.

Commenting on the development, Executive Deputy Chairman Thien Chiet Chai said the Group was honoured to be selected by Hibiscus Oil & Gas Malaysia for the strategic CCS initiative. He noted that the contract reflects Reservoir Link’s expanding subsurface expertise and supports Malaysia’s lower-carbon ambitions.

“CCS is expected to become a significant market in the coming years, and securing this project positions Reservoir Link to capture future opportunities and create long-term value,” Thien said. He added that CCS is widely recognised as a critical enabler for emissions reduction, energy security, and the transition towards a more sustainable energy landscape.

The contract further strengthens Reservoir Link’s role in supporting clean energy technologies while continuing to deliver high-value solutions to Malaysia’s upstream oil and gas sector. The Group reiterated its commitment to pursuing strategic opportunities across both conventional oil and gas and emerging low-carbon segments to drive sustainable growth for shareholders.
