Global offshore wind investor and developer Reventus Power has named Rasmus Wandrup as its new Chief Technical Officer (CTO).

With over 20 years of experience in marine engineering and construction, Wandrup has held senior technical roles at Siemens Wind Power, Vattenfall, K2 Management, and Synera Renewable Energy. His career milestones include the delivery of Taiwan’s 372 MW Formosa 2 offshore wind farm, awards for Formosa 4 and 6, and the successful operation of Formosa 1.

Wandrup also contributed to groundbreaking projects such as Scotland’s Hywind, the world’s first floating wind project (2009), and Hollandse Kust, the Netherlands’ first subsidy-free offshore wind farm. He trained at Denmark’s premier marine education institution, SIMAC.

As CTO, Wandrup will lead technical due diligence, engineering, construction, project delivery, and asset management for Reventus Power’s expanding offshore wind portfolio.Michael van der Heijden, Chief Executive Officer at Reventus Power, commented: “Building on the foundations of a highly active 2024, Reventus Power continues to prioritise the recruitment of elite talent to further strengthen our in-house technical, financial, and commercial expertise. I am delighted to welcome Rasmus to the team.”

Rasmus Wandrup added: “It is well-noted that the global offshore wind industry is experiencing some technical and economic challenges at present, but it is also at the foothills of an exceptional long-term growth opportunity. It is up to the sector to understand these circumstances and seize that opportunity. Reventus Power has been shaped to thrive in this environment and I’m extremely excited to join the team.”

Reventus Power became CPP Investments’ dedicated global offshore wind platform in April 2024, doubling its team size. Wandrup’s appointment follows those of Michael van der Heijden as CEO and Jochen Froehlich as CFO.
