From mining trucks to manufacturing floors, some of the world’s hardest-to-abate industries are accelerating their transition to clean energy. Serentica Renewables has announced that it is supplying a leading Mining & Metals company with 1 GW of renewable energy through a hybrid mix of wind, solar, storage, and transmission solutions designed to meet the reliability demands of energy-intensive operations.

The transition is projected to cut approximately 7 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, aligning with global sustainability benchmarks and strengthening ESG performance for investors. It also sets a precedent for industry-wide decarbonisation, Serentica said.

According to the company, the clean energy supply is enabling smelters and processing units to operate more sustainably by reducing reliance on fossil-based power, ensuring reliable energy for heavy industrial units, and providing a clear pathway to low-carbon operations.

“With Serentica, the shift to decarbonisation isn’t just a vision—it’s a business reality where scale, sustainability, and reliability converge to shape the future of heavy industries,” the company noted.
