SolarPower Europe has announced the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors, effective January 2026. The organisation welcomed Katharina David, the CEO of K2 Systems, and Julius Beutel, Vice President of the Business Unit Photovoltaic Solutions at Weidmüller. Both executives bring extensive experience from leading European manufacturing companies in the solar industry.

Walburga Hemetsberger, CEO of SolarPower Europe, said the organisation is pleased to have two high-profile industry leaders join the Board. She noted that their expertise will be valuable as Europe continues to strengthen its renewable energy capabilities and transition towards a more secure and sustainable energy system. Hemetsberger emphasised that David and Beutel’s leadership will support SolarPower Europe’s mission to accelerate a solar-driven energy transition across the continent.

The new Board members follow the departure of outgoing Directors Thomas Rührlinger from Fronius and Dr. Christian Westermeier from Wacker. Hemetsberger extended her gratitude to both for their commitment and contribution throughout their time on the Board, acknowledging their valuable insights and the role they played in supporting the organisation’s work. SolarPower Europe looks forward to working closely with its newly appointed Directors as the solar sector continues to expand and evolve across Europe.
