Summit Carbon Solutions (Summit), the company behind a proposed 668-mile-long carbon dioxide (CO2) pipeline, has signed a deal with electrofuels (e-fuels) producer Infinium to supply its facilities in North Dakota or South Dakota.

Specifically, Summit will supply Infinium with 670,000 metric tonnes per annum of CO2.

Infinium’s e-fuel production method combines green hydrogen and captured CO2 to produce petroleum-based products such as sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF), eDiesel and eNaptha.

Robert Schuetzle, CEO of Infinium, said, “As the demand for e-fuels continues to rise, it is essential to secure reliable and scalable CO2 sources. Summit’s infrastructure will supply the CO2 needed to scale production and advance e-fuels as a key part of the US’s energy future.”
