Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power and India’s leading rooftop solar company, has achieved a significant milestone in the first quarter of FY26. The company recorded an impressive 45,589 rooftop solar installations during this period, showing a remarkable 416% growth compared to 8,838 installations in the same quarter of the previous financial year. This outstanding performance strengthens TPREL’s position as a key driver of India’s rooftop solar movement.

With the latest achievement, the total number of rooftop solar installations by TPREL across the country has reached 2,04,443. These installations have collectively contributed to a cumulative capacity of over 3.4 GW. This progress highlights the company’s crucial role in supporting India’s renewable energy goals and its commitment to promoting clean, decentralized energy solutions.

TPREL is also actively contributing to the government’s efforts to increase the adoption of solar energy under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. Through its flagship campaign, Ghar Ghar Solar, the company is encouraging households, businesses, and industries to adopt solar energy by offering customized rooftop solar solutions suited to different needs.

The company has built a strong presence across India with the support of a wide network that includes 604 channel partners operating in more than 400 cities and 240 authorized service partners in over 560 cities. This extensive network ensures efficient service and support for customers throughout the country. TPREL now serves a growing customer base of over 2 lakh, with more than 1.8 lakh customers from the residential segment alone, establishing itself as a reliable and trusted name in the solar energy space.

In addition to its leadership in rooftop solar, TPREL is expanding its capabilities in solar manufacturing as well. The company has a manufacturing capacity of 4.3 GW for solar cells and modules in India. This, combined with its large base of rooftop installations, demonstrates TPREL’s strong presence across the solar value chain and its ongoing efforts to support India’s clean and sustainable energy transition.
