Global engineering company Boldrocchi will supply a helium leak-tight circulator to nuclear energy technology company Terra Innovatum to support its SOLO nuclear microreactor experimental programme.
The agreement supports Terra Innovatum’s development of SOLO, a gas-cooled microreactor designed for factory-based manufacturing and deployment in distributed energy applications.
SOLO uses helium as a coolant instead of water, with the circulator moving helium through the primary system to transfer heat from the reactor core to the steam generator, helping regulate operating temperatures and maintain safety.
Terra says its reactor technology could support data centers and energy infrastructure, providing 1GWe of carbon-free energy within a one-kilometer range.

Boldrocchi manufactures rotating equipment for various industrial applications, making it well-suited to provide a reliable helium-circulator with sealing integrity.
This is essential to complete performance testing and system validation of the micro-modular reactor technology.
