The move is aimed at enhancing market participation while supporting the government’s disinvestment objectives. NLC India continues to play a critical role in India’s renewable energy expansion strategy through significant investments in solar and green power projects.

MAHAPREIT has issued tenders for developing 100 MW of rooftop solar projects integrated with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across Maharashtra. The initiative aims to improve energy reliability, maximize solar utilization, and strengthen distributed renewable energy adoption. The program supports Maharashtra’s clean energy objectives while encouraging wider deployment of storage-backed rooftop solar solutions for commercial and institutional consumers.

Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has invited bids for a 50 MW solar PV project coupled with a 10 MW/40 MWh battery energy storage system at OPGC’s IB Thermal site in Odisha. The hybrid project is designed to enhance renewable integration, improve grid stability, and support energy transition goals. It reflects increasing momentum behind combining solar generation with storage infrastructure across India.

The Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) has approved Noida Power Company Limited’s procurement of an 80 MW/320 MWh battery energy storage system. However, the commission declined the request for capital subsidy benefits under the state’s solar policy. The decision strengthens the role of utility-scale storage in grid management while providing regulatory clarity on the treatment of energy storage projects within state incentive frameworks.

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) will develop a 250 MW solar project integrated with battery storage on defence land in Uttar Pradesh. The project demonstrates the growing use of government-owned land for clean energy development while enhancing energy security and sustainability objectives. The integration of BESS will support improved power reliability and optimize renewable energy utilization.

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy has reported record revenues alongside execution of approximately 4.5 GW of renewable energy projects during FY26. The company’s performance reflects strong demand for utility-scale solar infrastructure and EPC services. With a growing project pipeline and improved operational efficiency, the company continues to strengthen its position in India’s rapidly expanding renewable energy market.

Juniper Green Energy has successfully commissioned a 305 MW renewable energy portfolio in Gujarat ahead of scheduled timelines. The achievement highlights the company’s project execution capabilities and contributes additional clean power capacity to the state’s renewable energy mix. Early commissioning supports faster realization of clean energy targets while strengthening grid-connected renewable infrastructure.

Sanginita Chemicals has acquired Agastya Green Energy as part of its strategic diversification into India’s growing renewable energy sector. The acquisition signals the company’s intention to expand beyond its traditional business operations and capitalize on opportunities emerging from the country’s energy transition. The move reflects increasing corporate interest in renewable energy assets and sustainable business growth.

Radiance Renewables has commissioned an 87 MWp solar project in Karnataka aimed at meeting rising clean energy demand from industrial consumers. The project will support decarbonization efforts across energy-intensive sectors while enabling businesses to access reliable renewable power. The commissioning further strengthens Karnataka’s position as a key renewable energy hub in India.

Odisha has advanced its grid modernization efforts through the deployment of 180 MWh battery energy storage capacity developed by Onward Solar. The initiative is expected to improve grid flexibility, support renewable energy integration, and enhance power system reliability. As storage deployment accelerates nationwide, projects like this are becoming critical for managing variable renewable energy generation.

Solar & Storage Expo Telangana 2026 concluded successfully, attracting participation from government officials, renewable energy developers, technology providers, and industry experts. The event served as a platform for discussing market opportunities, policy developments, energy storage solutions, and emerging technologies. The strong turnout reflects growing momentum in Telangana’s renewable energy ecosystem and investment landscape.

Dell Technologies and the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) have launched five solar-powered skill vans to expand AI-enabled digital learning across India. The initiative aims to bridge educational access gaps by delivering technology-driven training to underserved communities. Powered by renewable energy, the mobile learning centers combine sustainability with digital skill development and workforce readiness objectives.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has launched new guidelines for its Small Hydro Power Development Scheme, targeting the addition of 1,500 MW of capacity. The framework seeks to accelerate project development, improve resource utilization, and diversify India’s renewable energy mix. The initiative underscores the government’s commitment to unlocking untapped hydro resources alongside solar and wind expansion.
