Trinasolar Receives World’s First UL 61730 2000V Certification for 210R Modules

Trina Solar, a global leader in PV and smart energy solutions, has announced that global safety science specialist UL Solutions has granted UL 61730 certification to its Vertex N 2000V high-voltage module. The certification was awarded based on the module’s exceptional power output, high system voltage, and outstanding reliability — making this the world’s first 210R module to receive UL 61730 2000V certification.

This achievement not only recognizes the superior performance, reliability, and stringent quality control of Trinasolar’s 2000V high-voltage modules, but it also broadens the application settings of the Vertex family to meet customers’ broad and ever-changing needs.

UL Solutions rigorously evaluated the quality and safety of Trinasolar’s 2000V module in a wide range of environmental conditions. The module passed numerous tests, including PID-induced degradation, damp heat, thermal cycling, ultraviolet aging, and B & B1 sequence tests with superior stability. The exceptional test performance confirmed the module’s reliability in high-voltage environments and the ability to meet the extreme demands of 2000V applications.

Based on Trinasolar’s advanced n-type TOPCon technology and 210mm platform, the 2000V module delivers up to 620W power output and 22.7% efficiency. These advancements significantly increase string power and enhance system performance for utility-scale solar projects, translating to lower balance-of-system (BOS) and labor costs, improved levelized cost of energy (LCOE), and shorter payback periods.

This module underwent a comprehensive design and material upgrade to overcome the technical challenges associated with high-voltage environments. New innovations in creepage distance considerations, the use of high-insulation materials, and an optimized glass structure, along with enhanced components such as junction boxes, contribute to improved performance, reliability, and safety. These improvements reduce the risk of arc breakdowns, preventing short circuits and potential fire hazards while also slowing the aging process of materials in high-voltage settings, ensuring the module’s long-term, stable operation.
