UAE and South Africa Strengthen Cooperation in Sustainable Infrastructure and Transport

Hassan Al Mansoori, Under-Secretary for Infrastructure and Transport Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, met with Dean Macpherson, Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure of South Africa, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in sustainable infrastructure and transport.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted the strong ties between the UAE and South Africa and explored opportunities for collaboration in smart and sustainable city development. Discussions focused on leveraging advanced technologies and best practices to execute strategic projects that align with sustainability goals.

Al Mansoori outlined the UAE Ministry’s key infrastructure and transport initiatives, emphasizing the country’s commitment to sustainable development and global competitiveness. He also showcased the Ministry’s innovative approaches, including artificial intelligence-driven solutions, smart roads, and green buildings.

“The UAE places great importance on strengthening international cooperation in infrastructure and transportation,” said Al Mansoori. “By exchanging expertise and best practices, we can drive comprehensive sustainable development and foster strategic partnerships that incorporate innovation and modern technology.”

Macpherson commended the UAE’s advancements in infrastructure and expressed South Africa’s interest in further collaboration. He noted that South Africa seeks to benefit from the UAE’s expertise in implementing high-quality, future-ready projects.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordination and communication, aiming to explore future projects of mutual interest that support sustainable development and reinforce bilateral relations.
