Uniper secures long-term helium supply from QatarEnergy

German utility company Uniper has signed a deal to buy around two million cubic meters of high-purity helium over a 15-year period from QatarEnergy.

Supply began in September under a long-term sales and purchase agreement, which has now been formally announced.

The helium will be supplied from QatarEnergy’s facilities in Ras Laffan.

John Roper, CEO of the Middle East at Uniper Global Commodities, said the agreement marks Uniper’s first direct relationship with QatarEnergy.
