The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) inviting prospective bidders to establish 1.3 GW solar power projects in the Jhansi district. The projects are proposed to be developed in Tehsils Garautha and Mauranipur under a Build-Own-Operate model.

Interested parties can submit their e-bids through the official e-tendering platform. The deadline for submission of bids is January 31, 2025, by 6:00 PM, with technical bid openings scheduled for February 1, 2025, at 12:00 PM.

The proposed 1.3 GW solar power project in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, will utilize 5,508 acres of land, including 957 acres of leased government land and 4,551 acres of private land across 10 villages. This innovative project aims to enhance renewable energy capacity, utilize wastelands, and promote green power under UPNEDA’s Solar Energy Policy 2022.

There are no charges for the EOI document, processing fee, or Earnest Money Deposit for this project.

This initiative is part of UPNEDA’s broader strategy to harness renewable energy potential and enhance sustainable power infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh. The agency has emphasized its right to cancel the EOI process at its discretion without assigning reasons.

This announcement represents a significant opportunity for stakeholders in the renewable energy sector to contribute to Uttar Pradesh’s solar energy ambitions.
