US-Korea partners to develop hydrogen plant using biogas

US-based Utility Global and South Korea’s Hanwha Corporation are to carry out a Pre-FEED (preliminary front-end engineering and design) study for a hydrogen production plant using biogas generated from South Korean wastewater treatment.

Utility Global will look to deploy its H2Gen system at the wastewater plants, if the initial design work is successful.

Hydrogen produced from biogas is slated to be used in South Korea’s hydrogen-powered mobility sector and other clean energy applications.

Parker Meeks, CEO of Utility Global, said the partnership represented a strategic advancement in the global expansion of its H2Gen system and marked a meaningful step towards supporting clean hydrogen production.
