Uttar Pradesh’s Clean Energy Transformation Gains Strong Industry Momentum: Uttar Pradesh Energy Expo 2026 Concludes Successfully in Lucknow

2nd Edition Brought Together 10,000+ Industry Stakeholders Across Solar, EV, Storage and Smart Energy Ecosystems | May 07 to 09, 2026 | Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh Energy Expo 2026 (UPEX 2026) concluded successfully in Lucknow after three high impact days of policy dialogue, technology showcases, strategic networking and industry collaboration that reinforced Uttar Pradesh’s growing role in India’s clean energy and electric mobility transition.

Jointly organized by the UP State Chapter, PHDCCI and FirstVIEW, in collaboration with UPNEDA, Invest UP, and UPPCL, Government of Uttar Pradesh, the three-day initiative successfully brought together policymakers, government officials, industry leaders, investors, startups, technology providers, and clean energy innovators from across the country.

Held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan (IGP), Gomti Nagar, Lucknow from May 07 to 09, 2026, the Expo emerged as one of North India’s largest integrated platforms focused on renewable energy, electric mobility, energy storage and smart grid modernisation.

At a time when Uttar Pradesh is rapidly accelerating utility scale solar deployment, distributed renewable energy adoption, EV infrastructure expansion and grid modernisation initiatives, the conversation throughout the Expo reflected a clear shift from ambition toward execution, scalability and long term infrastructure readiness.

Three Days of Strategic Industry Dialogue and Market Focus  

Day 1. Policy, Grid Infrastructure and Energy Transition Foundations  

The opening day focused on the policy and infrastructure priorities shaping Uttar Pradesh’s clean energy growth.

The Expo was inaugurated in the presence of Shri Brajesh Pathak, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Uttar Pradesh, alongside senior government officials and institutional leaders includingDr. Ashish Kumar Goel, IAS- ACS, Energy & Department of Additional Sources of Energy & Chairman, Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Shri Ravindra Singh, IAS, Director, Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA), Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Key discussions examined power demand growth, transmission readiness, renewable deployment targets, smart metering, grid flexibility and policy reforms required to accelerate investment and large scale project execution.

Day 2. Scaling Solar Deployment, PM Surya Ghar and Industrial Decarbonisation  

The second day focused on solar market expansion, distributed energy systems and industrial clean energy adoption across Uttar Pradesh.

The UP Solar Leadership Forum explored utility scale solar growth, financing models, transmission infrastructure and project execution opportunities across key solar regions. Key participants included Shri Onkar Yadav, CEO, Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited; Shri Deepak Raizada, Director (Corporate Planning), UPPCL; Shri Abhishek Moza, Joint Director, UPERC; and Shri Narendra Singh, Senior Project Officer, UPNEDA.”

Major discussions across the PM Surya Ghar Forum, PM KUSUM & Agrivoltaics Forum and Industrial Energy Transition & C&I Solar Forum highlighted rooftop solar adoption, decentralised energy systems, solar powered agriculture, corporate PPAs and industrial decarbonisation strategies.

Day 3. Electric Mobility, Charging Infrastructure and Future Energy Systems  

The final day focused on EV adoption, charging infrastructure and future ready mobility systems.

The UP EV Mobility Summit brought together policymakers, OEMs, charging infrastructure providers, utilities and technology companies to discuss fleet electrification, EV financing, charging network expansion and battery manufacturing opportunities.

Additional forums explored smart charging systems, logistics electrification, urban mobility integration and grid readiness for large scale EV adoption.

Co Hosted Expos Strengthened the Industry Ecosystem  

Uttar Pradesh Energy Expo 2026 also featured four co hosted exhibitions including UP Solar Expo, UP Smart Grid Expo, UP Storage Expo and UP EV Expo, creating a focused platform for showcasing innovations across renewable energy, energy storage, smart infrastructure and electric mobility.

The exhibition floor witnessed strong participation from manufacturers, EPC companies and technology providers showcasing advanced solar technologies, battery storage systems, EV charging solutions and integrated energy infrastructure platforms.

Recognition Platforms Celebrating Industry Excellence  

A key highlight of the Expo was the Uttar Pradesh Energy Awards 2026 and PM Suryaghar Excellence Awards, which recognised organisations, professionals and vendors driving measurable impact across solar deployment, electric mobility, energy storage, grid modernisation and clean energy innovation.

The awards ceremony was attended by Shri Mahesh Gupta (Retd IAS), Former Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Energy and Renewable Energy, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Shri Er. Awanish Kumar Singh, Member of Legislative Council of Uttar Pradesh, who addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of collaborative industry participation in accelerating Uttar Pradesh’s clean energy ambitions.
