Vikram Solar Secures 187 MW Module Supply Order for Karnataka and Tamil Nadu Projects

Vikram Solar has secured a 187 MW module supply order from a prominent renewable energy developer for utility-scale solar projects across three sites in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The order strengthens the company’s position in India’s solar manufacturing sector and reflects continued demand for high-efficiency photovoltaic modules from large renewable energy developers.

Under the agreement, Vikram Solar will supply its N-Type TOPCon G12R solar modules, featuring individual power ratings ranging from 615 Wp to 625 Wp. The modules incorporate glass-to-glass construction and bifacial technology, designed to support improved energy generation, durability and long-term performance in utility-scale solar installations.

The latest contract builds on an existing partnership between Vikram Solar and the renewable energy developer. The continued engagement highlights the developer’s confidence in the company’s manufacturing capabilities, product quality and ability to execute large-scale module supply commitments.

The order also adds to Vikram Solar’s growing order book as the company continues to expand its presence in India’s renewable energy market. With utility-scale solar projects driving demand for advanced photovoltaic technologies, manufacturers are increasingly focusing on high-efficiency modules that can deliver improved performance and reliability over their operational lifetimes.

Commenting on the development, Sameer Nagpal, Chief Executive Officer of Vikram Solar, said the solar industry is increasingly adopting technologies that offer long-term value, reliability and superior performance. He reiterated the company’s commitment to maintaining high manufacturing standards and strengthening its technological capabilities to meet the changing requirements of the renewable energy sector.

India is continuing to expand its renewable energy infrastructure to support its target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity. Solar power remains a key contributor to this transition, with large-scale projects and growing demand for domestically manufactured modules supporting the development of the sector.

Vikram Solar’s latest 187 MW order comes amid ongoing investments in high-efficiency solar cell and module manufacturing. Through its product development initiatives and partnerships with major renewable energy developers, the company aims to support the deployment of utility-scale solar projects and contribute to India’s broader clean energy ambitions.
