Volks Energie Secures Strategic Win with JHBDPL to Strengthen India’s Renewable Energy Infrastructure

Volks Energie Project

Volks Energie has announced a significant milestone in India’s renewable energy landscape with the award of a key project under the Jagdishpur–Haldia–Bokaro–Dhamra Pipeline Project (JHBDPL), spearheaded by GAIL India Ltd. The project will see Volks Energie supply, deploy, and commission 15 KWP Solar Photovoltaic Power Plants equipped with Ni-Cd batteries across nine strategic locations in the states of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh.

Volks Energie, known for its commitment to sustainable energy solutions, will harness the power of solar energy combined with Ni-Cd batteries, which are renowned for their long lifespan of up to 20 years, making them a reliable and sustainable alternative in challenging environments. This project marks a critical step in expanding off-grid energy solutions for India’s diverse terrain and climate challenges.

Piyush Goyal, Co-Founder & CEO of Volks Energie, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “At Volks Energie, we are delighted and proud to win the project at JHBDPL and commission the deployment of our trademark and expertise in ‘Solar + Ni-Cd’ across strategic locations in North & Eastern India. With the use of Ni-Cd batteries, we ensure safety, endurance, and uninterrupted power supply, even in extreme or demanding climatic and operational conditions. We are honoured to be trusted with this great responsibility by GAIL & JHBDPL & look forward to contributing towards India’s futuristic aspirations of 500 GW from renewables and achieving a net-zero by 2070.”

The collaboration will see Volks Energie design, install, and supply 15 KWP solar plants across multiple zones in the coming months, with the project expected to be completed by the end of the year. This effort will significantly bolster India’s renewable energy capacity while enhancing the operational reliability of one of the country’s largest pipeline projects.

With this strategic win, Volks Energie continues to play a key role in advancing India’s renewable energy goals, contributing to the nation’s ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity and reaching net-zero emissions by 2070.
