BluPine Energy Launches Four New Skill Development Centres in Gujarat to Support Clean Energy Transition

BluPine Energy has announced the launch of four new Skill Development Training Centres (SDTCs) in rural Gujarat, expanding its reach in empowering local youth, particularly women, with skills needed for the green economy. This brings the total number of centres across India to 21, marking a significant milestone in BluPine’s efforts to foster inclusive development and contribute to India’s clean energy transition.

The new centres, located in the villages of Tana, Varal, Bhakhal, and Mamsi, have already enrolled 124 students, with the cohort expected to graduate by September 2025. BluPine’s Skill Development Initiative is designed to provide job-ready skills through a six-month certified programme focused on solar panel installation, electrical safety, system maintenance, and troubleshooting. The programme is aimed at equipping youth with the skills required for clean energy and allied sectors.

Key highlights of BluPine’s initiative include:

  • 904 rural youth enrolled across Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Karnataka
  • 402 women participants, accounting for 45% of the total enrolment
  • 456 trained participants, with 448 currently undergoing training
  • An 82% placement success rate

James Magor, Director of Sustainability at Actis, joined BluPine Energy for the inauguration of the new centres, reinforcing their shared commitment to embedding sustainability and community development in clean energy investments.

This initiative marks a critical step in bridging the rural-urban skills gap, creating sustainable livelihoods, and supporting India’s clean energy goals by providing local communities with the tools and opportunities to thrive in the growing green economy.
