United Solar Polysilicon, a global supplier of high-quality polysilicon materials, has announced a strategic partnership with OQ Alternative Energy, a key renewable energy developer based in the Middle East. As part of this collaboration, the two companies will co-develop a major 700-megawatt (MW) photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Oman.

This partnership reflects a shared goal of supporting the region’s energy transition by expanding the use of renewable sources. The planned 700 MW solar project will play a vital role in advancing Oman’s national renewable energy objectives. Once completed, the facility is expected to make a significant contribution to the country’s efforts to diversify its energy mix and reduce reliance on conventional energy sources.

Longgen Zhang, Founder and Chairman of United Solar, mentioned, “This partnership embodies our shared vision to harness the region’s abundant solar resources and accelerate the transition to clean, renewable energy. We are excited to partner with OQ Alternative Energy on a project that not only supports Oman’s energy goals but also demonstrates the transformative power of sustainable energy generation across the Middle East.”

Najla Al Jamali, CEO of OQ Alternative Energy, stated, “Collaborating with United Solar Polysilicon allows us to leverage our combined expertise in renewable energy development. This project will contribute significantly to Oman’s clean energy landscape and set a benchmark for future initiatives in the region.”

The initiative also aligns with broader efforts across the Middle East to build a more sustainable and resilient energy future. By combining United Solar Polysilicon’s expertise in polysilicon production with OQ Alternative Energy’s experience in renewable project development, the collaboration aims to deliver a clean energy project that supports long-term environmental and economic goals for the region.
