The RAK Energy Summit closed today with the unveiling of the National Industry Sustainability Initiative, a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) and the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT). This initiative aims to enhance sustainability and energy efficiency within the UAE’s industrial sector.

A key highlight of the summit was the launch of the UAE Industry Registry Platform, designed to facilitate the implementation of the Federal Energy Management Regulation in Industrial Facilities. This platform will play a pivotal role in managing and improving energy performance in industrial operations across the UAE. The announcement was made by Eng. Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI, and Omar Ahmed Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary at MoIAT.

The summit also featured presentations from the Environment Agency Abu Dhabi and RAKGAS, alongside technology showcases by EDF Group and Schneider Electric. Additionally, the event included dynamic panel discussions on the future of fuels, energy carriers, and energy-intensive industries. The summit concluded with a roundtable on sustainability in the hospitality sector, led by the Advancing Net Zero Volunteering Team.

The two-day summit brought together high-profile decision-makers, industry experts, and speakers from across the UAE, the region, and globally, contributing to ongoing dialogue on sustainability, renewable energy, and decarbonisation.
