IT’S COMING BACK! Everything We Know About LANDMAN Season 2

Now that Taylor Sheridan’s new show Landman has aired its season finale, fans are already eager to know if the Texas-set drama will be back for a second season on Paramount+. In March, the streamer officially confirmed a Landman season 2 after months of speculation.

Landman was one of the biggest shows of the year because of Taylor Sheridan’s unique ability to tap into the cultural zeitgeist, harnessing the Neo-western themes of rugged individualism, ambition and working-class struggles set against contemporary debates around energy, climate change and economic growth,” Chris McCarthy, the President and CEO of Paramount Media Networks, said upon the renewal news.

Billy Bob Thornton teased season two by saying, “I loved it. Taylor knows this show very well, he’s got a vision for it so it’s pretty easy. I didn’t expect to read it and go, ‘Wait a minute, hang on here.’ It was great.” Here’s what we know so far about Landman season two:

Thornton on the set of Landman season 2.

“It’s a very interesting world in the boomtown of Fort Worth, Texas. It’s kind of this subculture that we haven’t seen before, which is what I think Taylor does so well,” Moore shared at Cannes last year. On the series, Moore plays Cami, the wife of oil titan, Monty Miller (Jon Hamm). “I thought we looked really good. He was lovely and I’ve known Billy Bob Thornton for a long time. I’ve already completed the first season and I’m excited for us to start the second which will be at the beginning of next year.”

“The show has done very well, so it just stands to reason that they would do another one,” star Billy Bob Thornton said in December, shortly after he received his Golden Globe nomination. “But especially when you get a nomination for something — that draws attention to your show, so I think that helps. I can’t see why they wouldn’t. I imagine we’ll find it pretty soon, because if we were going to do one, we’ll have to start not too long after the first of the year.”

In June, Thornton shared they were nearly done shooting season two, and it was set to wrap in August.

The creators want to make as many seasons of Landman as possible.

Co-creator Christian Wallace would love to return to the world of Landman, saying, “As long as there are stories to tell, I would love to keep telling them. And I think we really just skinned the surface on our first season, and that’s saying something because they cover a lot of ground. So yeah, I hope we keep telling these stories for a while.”

It’s likely the entire key cast will return.

We can expect season two to star the main players from season one, including:

  • Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris
  • Ali Larter as Angela Norris
  • Jacob Lofland as Cooper Norris
  • Michelle Randolph as Ainsley Norris
  • Paulina Chavez as Ariana Medina
  • Demi Moore as Cami Miller
  • Kayla Wallace as Rebecca Falcone
  • Mark Collie as Sheriff Walt Joeberg
  • James Jordan as Dale Bradley
  • Colm Feore as Nathan

Also returning will be Andy Garcia, who made his first appearance in the season one finale. “He’ll be more of a part of it this year for sure,” Thornton said of Garcia, adding, “Andy and I go way back too, first time working together though.”

Sam Elliott will also join the cast as a series regular, but his role remains secret. It’s unlikely Jon Hamm will return, as his character Monty dies in finale.

Randolph told T&C she prepared for her role as Ainsley with an eye towards the hope Landman would run for many seasons. “When you are starting a show that hopefully goes as long as possible, it’s so important that you establish them the way you want in the first season,” she explained.

Season two will premiere in November 2025.

In a Paramount earnings call, Chris McCarthy, co-CEO of Paramount Global revealed that Landman will return this November, but no specific date has been set yet.

We’ll update this as soon as we learn more about Landman season two. While we wait for news, catch up on season one on Paramount+:
