Sharjah Launches First Solar Power Plant as His Highness Champions Clean Energy Future

His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Sharjah Petroleum Department, and President of the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC), inaugurated “SANA”—the first solar power plant in Sharjah. Spanning 850,000 square meters and generating up to 60 megawatts of clean energy, the facility is located adjacent to the Sajaa Gas Plant.

During the event, His Highness emphasized that the launch of SANA represents a pivotal step in Sharjah’s transition toward sustainable energy. He noted that the project aligns with the long-term vision of the Sharjah Energy Council, which is dedicated to shaping the future of energy and water resources in the emirate.

His Highness further underlined Sharjah’s commitment to environmental stewardship and the adoption of clean, renewable energy sources. He praised the project as a powerful example of how collaboration and innovation can drive a greener, more sustainable future for the region.
