Canadian Solar’s EP Cube Wins 2025 Red Dot Award for Design Excellence

Canadian Solar Inc. announced its residential energy storage system, EP Cube—developed by its subsidiary Eternalplanet—has been awarded the prestigious Red Dot Award 2025. This honor recognizes EP Cube as one of the world’s best-designed residential energy storage solutions.

The Red Dot Design Award, established in Germany in 1955 and often dubbed the “Oscars of Industrial Design,” is one of the most respected global design competitions. In 2025, the award drew over 10,000 submissions from more than 60 countries, with fewer than 1.5% of entries receiving recognition.

EP Cube stood out to the jury for its sleek, modular architecture and space-efficient form. The system features:

  • Modular stacking design: Allows flexible capacity expansion based on household needs.
  • Ultra-slim profile: Reduces installation space and time, ideal for various home environments.
  • Three-phase output: Delivers up to 12 kVA AC output and supports capacities from 5 kWh to 40 kWh.
  • PV compatibility: Works with both existing and new solar systems, promoting greater grid independence and clean energy adoption.
