Ameren Missouri Customers Save $2.9 Million Through Energy-Efficient HVAC Upgrades

More than 230 commercial customers across Ameren Missouri’s service area have collectively saved over $2.9 million on their energy bills by upgrading to high-efficiency HVAC systems since July 2024. The upgrades were supported through the company’s BizSavers® energy efficiency program, which offers cash incentives to businesses across all industries for reducing energy use. “Increased participation in programs like BizSavers is a win for everyone, lowering bills, reducing environmental impact and supporting a more resilient energy grid,” said Kenny Blair, program supervisor of energy efficiency at Ameren Missouri. “We applaud our customers for making the commitment to use energy-efficient equipment. Our partnership through this program proves that when we work together, we all benefit.”

Over the past 12 months, participating businesses have completed more than 380 HVAC upgrade projects, resulting in 29.7 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy savings — enough to power 32,383 homes for one month. Cozad Commercial Real Estate Ltd. has completed 50 energy-saving projects through BizSavers since the program began. Its latest HVAC upgrades across multiple St. Louis properties have already saved over 518,000 kWh. To date, Cozad has saved more than 2.6 million kWh and has several new projects in progress, projected to save another 780,000 kWh.

MilliporeSigma, a global leader in life sciences, upgraded its St. Louis facility’s HVAC system, saving over 466,000 kWh. A long-time BizSavers participant, the company has saved more than 12.8 million kWh over the past 12 years.

Vista on the Park and Pollard Properties upgraded the HVAC system at their 234-unit Wright City community with no added cost to residents. The improvements have saved more than 378,000 kWh, while enhancing comfort and energy efficiency for tenants.
