On July 29, 2025, the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) successfully conducted an electronic Reverse Auction (e-RA) for Project-5 under the SIGHT Scheme. This project focuses on the production and supply of Green Ammonia by Paradeep Phosphate Limited, located in Paradeep, with a total quantity of 75,000 metric tons. The auction was conducted as part of the Request for Selection (RfS) process for green ammonia production in India. It was specified under Mode-2A-Tranche-I of the SIGHT Scheme, with the RfS numbered SECI/C&P/MI/00/0002/2024-25, dated June 7, 2024.

The e-RA was managed through the e-SecureAuction™ platform and was conducted for a ‘Single Entity’ with a ‘Fixed Quantity’. The bidding began with a starting and reserve price of ₹62.50 per kilogram. After competitive bidding, ACME Cleantech Solutions Private Limited emerged as the Rank-1 Bidder. The company quoted and submitted a loaded bid of ₹55.75 per kilogram, which is significantly lower than the set reserve price, demonstrating strong competition and interest in green ammonia production.

This auction marks another milestone in India’s journey toward achieving its clean energy targets. It highlights the growing focus on green hydrogen and ammonia as alternatives to fossil fuels in industrial sectors.
