Selec Controls Leads with Innovation to Transform India’s Rooftop Solar Landscape

Selec Controls Pvt. Ltd., a leading name in industrial and consumer electronics, is making notable contributions to India’s renewable energy growth. With expertise spanning energy management, electrical protection, and automation, the company has become a trusted brand in both domestic and global markets, combining in-house research and development with world-class manufacturing capabilities.

From Indian Roots to Global Reach

Established in 2000, Selec has grown into a globally recognized manufacturer serving customers in over 75 countries. Its operations are supported by subsidiaries in Germany, the USA, and Australia, along with a network of more than 280 distribution partners worldwide. From its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Navi Mumbai, the company produces over four million products annually, using advanced automation and stringent quality control systems.

A workforce of more than 1,000 professionals — including 300+ engineers driving innovation and 180+ sales and service specialists — ensures that Selec delivers products meeting global standards such as ISO, CE, UL, ROHS, MID, ASTA, and BIS certifications.

Shaping India’s Rooftop Solar Market

In June 2024, Selec entered the rooftop solar market with a fully indigenous product portfolio, offering single-phase inverters from 1–6 kW and three-phase inverters from 3–10 kW. Within the same financial year, the company crossed 10,000 installations nationwide — a milestone reflecting strong market acceptance and trust in Made-in-India solar technology.

Designed for India’s environmental and grid conditions, the inverters feature a proprietary generation-optimized algorithm to maximize energy yield and minimize downtime, a low startup voltage of 50V for early-morning and low-light performance, a custom-designed heatsink that keeps internal temperatures up to 5°C cooler to extend product life by nearly two years, and a corrosion-resistant plastic casing for durability and ease of handling.

Selec is expanding this portfolio with on-grid inverters up to 350 kW for commercial and utility-scale applications, hybrid inverters up to 10 kW for solar-plus-storage systems, and microinverters for module-level optimization and flexibility.

Innovation for a Sustainable Future

Selec’s growing presence in Europe, North America, and Australia reflects its ambition to take Indian-developed solar technology to the global stage. Its presence at RenewX 2025 showcased its indigenous solar inverter range, featuring low startup voltage, Type II SPD, and zero-export compliance — aligning with the Make-in-India vision and the needs of residential and commercial segments.

By designing and manufacturing every component in-house, Selec reduces dependence on imports, creates skilled employment opportunities, and contributes directly to India’s renewable energy and self-reliance goals. With innovation at its core and sustainability as its guiding principle, Selec Controls is positioned to remain a key contributor to India’s clean energy transformation.
