With over 12 years of experience in Australia, Sungrow has deployed more than 400,000 residential energy systems, supported by a nationwide distribution network that ensures smooth rollout and consistent service quality. This pilot trade-in program builds on Sungrow’s extensive installed base and the trust it has earned with homeowners and installers over the years.

Since its launch in July, the first trade-in installations have been completed across multiple states. Installers report strong consumer interest, with many homeowners accelerating their upgrade decisions. In response, Sungrow has optimized the application process, streamlined logistics, and tested recycling standards to align with Australia’s evolving environmental regulations.

At a national level, Australia’s framework for electronic waste management is gradually taking shape, with specific battery storage recycling regulations expected by 2030. Sungrow’s proactive program is being recognized as a benchmark for corporate environmental responsibility.

Preparing for the Future of Smart Home Energy

Sungrow’s latest-generation inverters support remote firmware updates and, when paired with compatible hardware, enable advanced functions such as solar-storage charging integration, AI-driven energy management, residential DC fast charging, and vehicle-to-grid (V2G) interaction. These upgrades are set to enhance the flexibility, intelligence, and value of residential energy systems, making the trade-in program strategically significant beyond its environmental impact.

Currently in the pilot phase, the nationwide rollout is still being evaluated. Based on the results, Sungrow may expand the initiative into a long-term program.
