In a significant step toward sustainable agriculture, the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA), in collaboration with MNRE’s partner GIZ, conducted a capacity-building workshop on PM-KUSUM and PM-Surya Ghar Yojana in Nabarangpur district as part of the #SevaParv celebrations.

The workshop was attended by District Collector Mr. Maheshwar Swain, officials from MNRE, OREDA, the Irrigation Department, GIZ, ASCI, and OLIC Nabarangpur, along with 40 local farmers. Participants gained insights into the implementation, financial incentives, and operational aspects of solar-powered irrigation.

Farmers shared firsthand experiences highlighting the benefits of solar pumps, including significant reductions in diesel costs, more reliable irrigation, and easier daily farm operations. Expert-led sessions and demonstration videos further provided practical guidance on adoption and usage.

The initiative underscores a shift from conventional diesel-based irrigation toward sustainable solar solutions, equipping farmers with both technical knowledge and financial awareness to implement renewable energy in their fields.
