Mundra Solar Private Limited and Waaree Energies Limited have received provisional enlistment for additional solar PV models in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). This decision follows applications submitted by both companies requesting the inclusion of their additional models in ALMM List-I.

The MNRE, through its notification dated May 10, 2023, has granted provisional approval for the enlistment of one additional solar PV model for each company. However, the final enlistment will depend on the fulfillment of specific conditions outlined in the ALMM guidelines, orders, or other instructions issued by the government. The approval is subject to further scrutiny and compliance with the prescribed norms.

Mundra Solar Private Limited, which has an existing enlisted capacity of 1,942 MW per year, applied for an additional capacity of 1,942 MW per year. Waaree Energies Limited, on the other hand, has an already enlisted capacity of 9,668 MW per year and applied for the same capacity for its additional models.

The MNRE has clarified that this provisional enlistment does not guarantee final approval. Neither MNRE, the Government of India, the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), nor their representatives will bear responsibility for any loss, liability, or damages incurred if the models granted provisional enlistment fail to secure final approval. This disclaimer ensures that the responsibility for compliance rests solely with the applicants.

This provisional approval has been issued with the approval of the competent authority, highlighting the ongoing efforts to expand the range of approved solar PV models and encourage the participation of manufacturers in the renewable energy sector. Final enlistment for these additional models will follow a detailed review process to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and requirements.
