Munich-based Feld Energy, a specialist in agrivoltaic systems, has begun construction on a new solar project in Weßling, located in the Starnberg district. The farm-adjacent system will cover up to 2.5 hectares and feature 1,610 solar modules, each with a capacity of approximately 620 watts, mounted on tracking systems. The total output is expected to reach just under one megawatt, with commissioning planned for January 2026.
Feld Energy offers farmers a 20-year leasing model, which can generate over €100,000 in additional income for agricultural operations.
Adrian Renner, founder and CEO of Feld Energy, emphasized the dual benefits of agrivoltaics: “Plants like the one here in Weßling prove that agriculture and the energy transition are not opposites, but mutually reinforcing. Our goal is to provide farmers with a secure, predictable income while contributing to energy security.”
The project highlights Germany’s growing focus on agrivoltaic solutions as a way to simultaneously support renewable energy generation and farm income.
