UK-based Haier Biomedical has launched a liquid nitrogen storage system that aims to address challenges around digital traceability and the need for greater oversight of stored materials.
The CryoBio LN2 storage system was developed with input from biobanks, research institutes, and hospitals that handle large-scale sample collections across the UK.
Biobanks are large collections of human biological samples (like blood, tissue, urine, saliva) and linked health data stored for medical research.
“We developed it by listening to our biobank customers and understanding their priorities, including easier compliance, automatic traceability, and fully secure access,” said Gary Brown, LN2 product specialist at Haier Biomedical.
