Luminous Power Technologies Appoints Vivek Abrol as MD & CEO

Luminous Power Technologies, India’s leading consumer energy fulfilment company, has announced the appointment of Vivek Abrol as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 19, 2026.

In his new role, Abrol will focus on driving profitable growth across the Luminous portfolio, accelerating the company’s evolution into an integrated consumer energy fulfilment platform, and expanding its solar and sustainable energy solutions. His mandate also includes strengthening Luminous’ leadership in its core inverter and battery segments, advancing innovation, leading digital transformation initiatives, and building a high-performance, future-ready organisation to enhance customer experience and operational excellence.

Abrol succeeds Preeti Bajaj, who will transition to Luminous’ parent company, Schneider Electric, where she will take on the role of Executive Vice President and lead the Global Home Solutions Division.

During her tenure, Bajaj played a key role in shaping Luminous’ growth trajectory and solar journey, reinforcing its position as a leading Fast Moving Energy Goods (FMEG) brand. Under her leadership, the company significantly expanded its solar portfolio, accelerated the adoption of sustainable energy solutions, strengthened customer-centric innovation, and enhanced operational excellence.

Commenting on the leadership transition, Preeti Bajaj said it had been a privilege to lead Luminous through a period of strong growth and transformation, adding that the company is well positioned for its next phase of growth. She expressed confidence that Abrol’s leadership would build on the strong foundation and further strengthen Luminous’ position in India’s consumer energy market.

Speaking on his appointment, Abrol said he was honoured to lead a company with a strong legacy of innovation, customer trust, and market leadership. He highlighted that India’s energy landscape is at a pivotal stage, driven by the transition towards cleaner, more reliable, and technology-enabled energy solutions, and said Luminous would focus on delivering innovative energy solutions aligned with evolving consumer needs.

Abrol brings over 25 years of leadership experience across FMCG, stationery, and electricals. He began his career at ITC Ltd, where he spent 16 years in multi-disciplinary leadership roles scaling FMCG businesses. He later served as Business Head and CEO across diverse sectors, including roles at Pidilite Industries Ltd and RR Kabel Ltd. Most recently, as CEO of RR Kabel’s Consumer Electricals Business, he led a transformational growth phase, scaling the business fivefold over 4.5 years while driving innovation across multiple product categories. He also brings experience in mergers and acquisitions and played a key role in the successful delivery of RR Kabel’s IPO.
