Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) has announced a significant milestone in its sustainability journey with the expansion of GE Vernova, a global energy leader specializing in Power, Wind, and Electrification segments. The company has unveiled a 4,300-square-foot warehouse, designed to enhance its operational efficiency and bolster its commitment to sustainable energy solutions.

The warehouse, inaugurated during a ribbon-cutting ceremony, marks a strategic move to support renewable energy advancements in the UAE and beyond. Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of SAIF Zone, and Eric Chaussin, Vice President and CEO of GE Vernova’s Power Transmission, officiated the event, showcasing the facility’s advanced capabilities.

The new facility reflects GE Vernova’s focus on accelerating the global energy transition. Equipped with state-of-the-art storage systems and cutting-edge equipment, including advanced gas turbine technologies, the warehouse will enable efficient distribution of spare parts and facilitate the repair and maintenance of renewable energy systems like wind turbines, solar panels, and hydropower solutions.

Al Mazrouei highlighted the significance of the expansion, stating, “GE Vernova’s growth within SAIF Zone underscores our shared commitment to sustainable energy and economic diversification. This facility strengthens Sharjah’s position as a global hub for green innovation, aligning with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy.”

The warehouse is set to transform GE Vernova’s logistics capabilities, reducing response times for spare parts and supporting major projects across the UAE and the region. By streamlining operations, the facility will enhance business continuity for renewable energy projects, ensuring optimal efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

Eric Chaussin emphasized the competitive advantages of SAIF Zone, including its strategic location and advanced infrastructure, which enable quick access to local and global markets. He stated, “This expansion reinforces our commitment to supporting the UAE’s energy production capabilities and sustainable development goals.”

With over 130 years of expertise in energy solutions and a presence in the UAE spanning five decades, GE Vernova has been a key player in advancing sustainable energy projects. The Hamriyah Independent Power Plant in Sharjah stands as a flagship example of its contributions to the region’s renewable energy landscape.

The new warehouse also aligns with Sharjah’s economic diversification strategy, promoting investment in renewable energy and advanced industries. Al Mazrouei reaffirmed SAIF Zone’s dedication to fostering an investor-friendly ecosystem that supports global sustainability objectives.

As the UAE continues its transition toward a green economy, GE Vernova’s expanded presence in SAIF Zone signals a significant step forward in achieving sustainable energy milestones while creating opportunities for innovation and growth in the renewable energy sector.
