The ADNEC Group has taken an important step toward sustainability by partnering with the Emirates Water and Electricity Company to power its Al Ain venue with renewable energy. This collaboration will ensure that the ADNEC Centre in Al Ain operates using clean solar power, supporting the United Arab Emirates’ wider environmental goals.

Under the agreement, EWEC will supply electricity generated from its large-scale solar projects to the venue. This shift to renewable energy is expected to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the ADNEC Centre’s daily operations. The move is especially relevant for the events industry, which is increasingly focusing on sustainability. By using solar power, the venue can host exhibitions, conferences, and other events that meet global environmental standards.

The initiative also supports the country’s long-term clean energy plans under the UAE Energy Strategy 2050. This strategy aims to increase the share of clean energy in the total energy mix to 50 percent. By adopting renewable energy solutions, ADNEC is contributing to the national effort to reduce dependence on traditional fossil fuels and promote a more sustainable energy system.

In addition to environmental benefits, the transition is expected to improve operational efficiency at the Al Ain venue. It also strengthens ADNEC’s position as a key player in the region’s growing green economy. As more companies and event organizers prioritize sustainability, venues powered by renewable energy are becoming more attractive. This makes Al Ain a competitive destination for international events that value environmentally responsible operations.

EWEC continues to play a major role in supporting the country’s energy transition by developing and supplying renewable power at scale. Its partnership with ADNEC shows how collaboration between infrastructure providers and energy companies can help accelerate sustainability efforts.

The development also reflects a broader trend in the Middle East, where large organizations are taking active steps to reduce environmental impact while maintaining high service standards. By integrating solar power into its operations, the ADNEC Centre is setting an example for sustainable venue management in the region.

Overall, the partnership highlights how renewable energy can be successfully adopted in large facilities, helping reduce emissions while supporting economic and environmental goals.
