Helium exploration and production company Blue Star Helium has extended a helium offtake agreement covering “any and all helium” produced at the Pinon Canyon plant in Las Animas County, Colorado, through 31 March 2027.
Blue Star had as a publicly listed US industrial gas company.
Blue Star Helium told gasworld its Pinon Canyon plant in Las Animas County, Colorado, has a nameplate capacity of just over 4,000 Mcfd of input gas.
The company is currently feeding about 1,000 Mcfd from its initial six wells, with some production constrained by surface equipment that is being repaired.
Trent Spry, Managing Director and CEO of Blue Star Helium, said the agreement secured continued volume delivery from Pinon Canyon.
“Our focus remains on consistent sales and cash flow while we progress the planned work to lift output toward the plant’s design capacity, and on securing a commercial solution for the co-produced CO2.”
In addition to the extended contract, Blue Star Helium has also confirmed delivery of a fourth helium tube trailer, and a fifth is being filled from the Pinon Canyon plant.
Ongoing trailer exchanges continue on a scheduled basis.
