Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Secures Over ₹1,000 Crore Power Grid Transformer Order

Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited (TARIL) has secured an order worth more than ₹1,000 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for the manufacturing and supply of transformers of various ratings, along with all associated works. The project is scheduled to be executed over the next 30 months.

The contract marks one of TARIL’s largest project wins to date and comes as India continues to invest heavily in expanding and modernising its power transmission infrastructure to meet growing electricity demand, facilitate renewable energy integration, and support the country’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

According to the company, the order further strengthens its position in India’s power transmission sector and highlights its capabilities in delivering large-scale, technologically advanced transformer solutions for critical infrastructure projects.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, the country’s largest electric power transmission utility, plays a central role in developing and operating India’s interstate transmission network. The order is expected to support the expansion of the national transmission grid while reinforcing TARIL’s role as a key supplier for strategically important energy infrastructure projects.

Commenting on the development, Satyen Mamtora, CEO and Managing Director of Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited, said, “Winning this order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited is a proud milestone for TARIL and reflects the trust placed in our manufacturing excellence, technological capabilities and execution expertise. As India advances towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, building a resilient and future-ready power transmission network will be fundamental to enabling energy security and large-scale renewable energy integration.

“We are honoured to contribute to this national transformation by delivering world-class transformer solutions engineered and manufactured in India, strengthening the country’s critical energy infrastructure. At TARIL, we remain committed to driving innovation, enhancing domestic manufacturing capabilities and partnering in India’s journey towards becoming a global power infrastructure leader.”

The company stated that the order further strengthens its existing order book and reflects the continued confidence of leading power utilities in its engineering expertise, manufacturing capabilities, and project execution track record. With advanced manufacturing facilities and a continued focus on innovation and quality, TARIL said it remains well positioned to support India’s growing transmission infrastructure requirements while contributing to the country’s long-term energy transition and infrastructure development goals.
