CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited (CG) has reported record first-quarter financial performance for FY2026-27, with its highest-ever Q1 revenue and profit before tax (PBT) driven by strong execution across its Industrial Systems and Power Systems businesses, alongside robust order inflows and margin expansion.
For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, standalone sales increased 16% year-on-year to INR 3,061 crore, while Profit After Tax (PAT) rose 27% to INR 364 crore. The company’s return on capital employed (ROCE) stood at 23%, and its unexecuted order backlog expanded 45% year-on-year to INR 17,333 crore, providing multi-quarter revenue visibility.
The Industrial Systems business reported sales of INR 1,671 crore, up 6% year-on-year, supported by strong double-digit growth in the motors segment. Order intake reached INR 1,586 crore, while the order backlog stood at INR 2,899 crore. Profitability was impacted by a one-time provision of INR 20 crore in the railways business.
The Power Systems segment delivered stronger growth, with sales rising 31% year-on-year to INR 1,402 crore. Segment PBIT increased to INR 324 crore, while margins expanded by 209 basis points to 23.1%. Order intake reached INR 3,106 crore, and the order backlog climbed 59% year-on-year to INR 14,434 crore, reflecting sustained demand across the transmission and distribution sector.
On a consolidated basis, revenue increased 14% year-on-year to INR 3,281 crore, while PAT rose 16% to INR 308 crore. The company said margin gains from its standalone operations were partially offset by continued investments in its semiconductor business. Consolidated order intake stood at INR 5,211 crore, with the order backlog increasing 45% year-on-year to INR 18,965 crore.
Commenting on the results, Amar Kaul, Group CEO and Managing Director, said the company continued to deliver disciplined execution despite global trade realignments, currency volatility and elevated input costs. He added that demand drivers remain diversified across grid modernisation, renewable energy integration, railway modernisation and electronics manufacturing, while the company will continue investing in capacity to capitalise on long-term growth opportunities.
During the quarter, CG commissioned its new extra high voltage (EHV) switchgear manufacturing facility at Pimpalgaon Garudeshwar in Nashik, Maharashtra. The facility expands the company’s EHV circuit breaker manufacturing capacity by 80%, supporting growing domestic and international demand for power transmission equipment.
The company also announced that its subsidiary, CG Semi Private Limited, commenced commercial production at its outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility in Sanand, Gujarat, on July 4, 2026.
