Global energy company Baker Hughes will supply a modularised liquefied natural gas (LNG) system to support the second phase of Venture Global’s 29 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) CP2 LNG export facility in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.
The award builds on an expanded master equipment supply agreement signed between the companies in September 2023.
Specifically, Baker Hughes will supply 12 mixed-refrigerant (SMR) liquefaction modules to form a total of six liquefaction blocks.
Each block will have two liquefaction modules, compression trains with advanced centrifugal compressor technology, in addition to cold boxes, air coolers, and integrated control systems.
Venture Global final investment decision (FID) on the second phase of its CP2 LNG facility in March of this year.
Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global, said, “Baker Hughes has been a trusted partner across our LNG developments, and we are pleased to extend this collaboration as we advance the next phase of CP2.”
Baker Hughes is a supplier across 100 mtpa of Venture Global’s existing and planned production capacity, contributing LNG systems to the and LNG facilities.
Lorenzo Simonelli, CEO of Baker Hughes, said the continued partnership reflects a commitment to scaling LNG solutions that build US LNG supply and support global energy security.
